Summer Youth Programs

July 8 - 11, July 15 - 18

and July 22 - 25

 

for students entering grades 6, 7 & 8

If you have a passion for food, then this program is for you. Every week different culinary delights will be prepared, so feel free to sign up for multiple classes. The third week will be an advanced class finishing with a family dinner.

Do you know the difference between a French braid, a fishtail, and a corn row?  Join us for a fun-filled exploration of the world of Cosmetology.

 

Everyone will leave with a personal color make-up kit and supplies to take home at the end of the week.

Design and build your own longboard. Students will experience three different shops and learn basic woodworking, graphic design and advanced manufacturing skills. Students will walk away with a super custom longboard they will be proud to ride and show off to their friends.  We will focus on shop safety, how to use of some the power tools that are found in the carpentry shop and the basics of applying a spray finish.

Students will learn to disassemble, prep the frame and metal parts to be painted, touch up and clear coat the bicycle parts and reassemble their own bicycle.

 

Week of July 15-18

Students must bring their own bicycle.

Want to know how wool gets from a sheep to your mittens? How about how a cow’s milk becomes ice cream or cheese? Students will learn about the different aspects of agriculture and how farmers produce the food and fiber that we use everyday. After working with the animals and getting some hands-on experience with agriculture, students will enjoy team building and leadership activities. Come on down to the farm for a fun-filled learning experience!

Students will need to come to the event in farm appropriate clothes - sneakers or boots, clothes they can get dirty, no tank tops, and pants that are at least knee length. Students will be hands-on with large animals.
